Rum Swizzle
Rum Swizzle
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Servings: 1
A popular drink in Bermuda, this rum swizzle cocktail is traditionally made using a “swizzle stick,” a branch from a tropical bush, to mix the ingredients together. In our rum swizzle recipe, we’ve modernised it by using a cocktail shaker instead. Search out a small-batch grenadine that is made from real pomegranate juice; inexpensive grenadine is usually mostly sugar syrup and food colouring.
Ingredients
- 45 ml gold rum
- 30 ml pineapple juice
- 15 ml orange juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 tsp. artisanal grenadine
- 1 pineapple wedge
Directions:
- Step 1. Combine Ingredients and Shake
- In a cocktail shaker combine the rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and Angostura bitters. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until frothing for about 15 seconds.
- Step 2. Serve!
- Strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Spoon the grenadine on top, garnish with the pineapple wedge and serve immediately. Makes 1 drink.
